Become Entranced with A Witch's Tale PDF Print E-mail

Developed by Hit Maker and getting published by Nippon Ichi Software, A Witch's Tale is a departure from most of Nippon Ichi titles in that it's not as RPG-centric as you'd think; it's unique in its style similar to how Atlus' Knights in the Nightmare had its own tweaks to an otherwise saturated DS genre. The game has you drawing runic symbols with the stylus to attack enemies and the visual style is reminiscent of Tim Burton films, or if you're looking for a more current example, something like Coraline or 9. Just my thought process, anyway. It may or may not seem that way to you. The game is slated for a US release this Fall. Look forward to it!

While surfing through Koei's FTP site, I saw they had uploaded a bunch of Mana Khemia 2 material. Koei generally publishes Nippon Ichi titles in Europe, for those who weren't aware, but in the US NISA will publish this Gust game around September (maybe sooner, maybe later... release dates are so up in the air anymore). We've uploaded the images here in a fun gallery for you to peruse. US and Europe can look forward to this game later this year. I like the artwork, and the screenshots are the typical fluffy Gust fare, but really, I think I like the designs for Lily, Raze, and Whim better in Cross Edge. I may change my tune, though!

Gust's latest (and last) PS2 RPG, Mana Khemia 2, coming to the US and Europe 4th quarter 2009

Edit your warrior with these Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires videos PDF Print E-mail

Long title? Probably. Koei has unleashed three new videos for their upcoming Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires game for the PS3/360. Two of these are showing off their pretty nice officer edit system; one for males, another for females. This was always my favorite aspect of the Dynasty Warriors franchise... nothing beats creating your own warrior and wreaking havoc on the battlefield. I was a bit disappointed it wasn't in the original Dynasty Warriors 6 release and I'm still a little sad it won't be offered at least as DLC, but this does seem to be a pretty in-depth creation system. The third video is of Meng-Huo, an old character being brought back to the roster after some time away. Enjoy! Meng-Huo is above and the two character edit videos are after the Read More link!

Rock Out With the Guitar Hero: Smash Hits Launch Trailer PDF Print E-mail

Activision's Guitar Hero: Smash Hits hits stores this week and so they've just released a launch trailer to get people amped up (hah!) for the game. Smash Hits is a compilation of the 48 most popular songs from the franchise, as voted on by the fans. This will allow wanna-be rockers to have the full band experience with songs from Guitar Hero 1 - 3, instead of being limited to just the guitar. The game also boasts only master tracks, so fans are guaranteed the real deal from their favorite tracks. Personally I'm getting a little burnt out on Guitar Hero/Rock Band, but it looks like Smash Hits will be a nice bit of fan service.
