Telltale Games has just announced that the fifth and final episode in the Strong Bad's Cool Games for Attractive People series: 8-Bit is Enough will be released in this Monday's WiiWare update in North America, and on Telltale's website for PC download worldwide (December 15th). In addition, they've released a new teaser trailer and a great collection of screenshots.

With the holidays approaching, Telltale's PR department wants to make sure that this title does not go unnoticed among the plethora of videogames vying for coveted under-the-tree space. I've found Telltale's recent games to be fun and very reasonably priced, earning them a mention as great Christmas gift potential. In addition to the Strong Bad series, Telltale has been putting a lot of effort into marketing their Sam & Max titles, with season one now available for the Wii, as well as both seasons one and two ready for download to the PC

Telltale Press writes: "In a season of games that has taken Strong Bad from a public nudity scandal, to world domination, to rock and roll semi-stardom, to a starring role in a major motion picture, how else could it end but with the legendary burninator, Trogdor!

"With the season finale AND the holidays on the way, this is a great time to dive into the season or to give it as a gift (hint/hint)! Additional details about Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People and demos of each episode are available at www.telltalegames.com/strongbad. Details about gifting options for the PC versions can be found here at www.telltalegames.com/store/gifts."

WordJong Party Spells F-U-N for the W-i-i PDF Print E-mail

Developer Destineer has announced the December 9th release of a Wii version of their Nintendo DS and online puzzle game WordJong Party. Described as a mix of the classic Chinese tile game and the popular western word game, the Wii title looks like it may offer up an innovative blend of both. Part Majong, part Scrabble, WordJong Party, "the smash online and DS puzzle game is coming to the Wii December 9th with all-new multiplayer modes, gorgeous new visuals and more!

"Use a set of lettered tiles to create words and clear the board in both single-player and intense four-player modes. WordJong Party boasts several new features exclusive to the Wii system not found in any other version."

The Destineer press pack brags that "the Wii game "features a 'Party Mode' where you can go head-to-head against three other players (human or AI) in intense splitscreen modes: Turn taking Round Play and real-time Frantic Mode."

The game also features lots of new tiles and great new ways to strategically use them. "'Score Multiplier' and 'Wild Tiles' have been joined by mighty new 'Power-Up Tiles' in Party Mode; use these tiles to help yourself, hinder all players, or target a specific opponent. Use the Wii Remote as a flashlight after being hit with the screen darkening 'Cavern Tile,' and wipe your board clean during a 'Sandstorm Tile' attack.

"The Wii game also features an enhanced solo mode. Daily Mode returns with all new features and themes like ice puzzles, jade puzzles, and more. In Battle Mode you begin the perilous journey up Zodiac Mountain, stopping at sacred Word Temples along the way to test your knowledge against the various Zodiac characters. Be wary though - you may find yourself battling two cunning opponents at the same time!

"Immerse yourself in the world of WordJong with all-new backgrounds, music, and special effects! Expect to see many familiar faces, as well as an mysterious all-new challenger!"
