This week we've seen our first round of Resistance: Retribution reviews hit the internets, and overall the critics have been quite positive. There has been some confusion though, particularly in the Joystiq review over whether or not you could use the DS3 controller with R:R on a PSP-1000. The confusion was brought about by the above image that was included with the PS.Blog announcement about the PS3/PSP connectivity. As you can see, it says that you can use the video out on the PSP Slim or the PSP 3000 only, since there is no video out on the PSP-1000. So does this mean that you cannot use the PSP Plus+ functionality with a PSP-1000? Well we talked to Jeff Rubenstein, the Community Manager for all things PlayStation-related and he confirmed that you CAN use your Sixaxis or DualShock 3 with R:R even if you have a PSP-1000. You also get access to the special Infected mode if you have R:R and Resistance 2 on the older PSP model. So that's great news for anybody who hasn't bothered to upgrade to one of the newer PSPs. Now the only question is if sites like Joystiq that got it wrong will update their reviews... *Update* Joystiq updated their review and linked to us, thanks guys!
